My bands second album release. This time I got to do all the work implied in producing CD cover art.

For our second release we wanted to do something a bit light minded, optimistic and yet sentimental, so we shot individual portraits on a rape field and misc. close ups of the rape flower in different flowering states. The strong yellow and green rape fields are covering most of Denmarks landscape in the summertime, and for most danish people these are the essence of the danish summer.

Playing in a band, often implies more than just playing your instrument. I'm the drummer in Mellophone, but I've also been responsible for developing our web and print identity - including this promotional CD.
The band members share a mutual love of, and fascination
with, vintage instruments and sounds. The music
is sentimental and mellow, and therefore we thought
that it'd be a great idea to let photographer Simon
Ladefoged shoot some pictures of us in an old
village hall. The technical and artistical qualities
of Simons photographs were excellent, so my task
was pretty much just, with fingerspitz-gefühl,
to organize and add the necessary information.
When you work with material, that is already "done"
and near perfect, it is easier said than done -
but the end product turned out quite well.
My diploma project nicknamed DIGIMUS, was consciously a multi-disciplinary adventure. I arranged workshops, printed books, conducted questionaires, made a website etc. — and among the outcomes, are some interesting pieces of web- and graphic design.
A much further description of my diploma project, DIGIMUS, is on its way.
One of the premises for my diploma project, was to present, and work with actual mockups of what I was designing. Talk less - show more.
Since what I was making, basically could be explained and communicated through a software interface example, I decided to spend some time making a media player interface example. Mind you - my project was not to develop a media player, but an example with a media player served the purpose of explaining my project; the apparatus behind, rather well.
The basic idea with DIGIMUS, was/is to hold information about music, artists and users of the system, in a central place. This "place" should then be accesible on a wide range of detail levels, from car radio systems with eg. a simple bookmark function, to advanced website syndication and shopping features. The player shown here, shows an example of how to utilize the information, the relations between multiple spheres of information, and most noteworthy - the point system, that replaces conventional payment, with a "earn or buy" point system which lets dedicated and active users in the system earn points to buy music with.
